Well, today was Valentines Day, and what a great day it was. My family went to the Royal Ontario Museum today. Kenny came along. We started the day by picking up Kenny at his place. While we were on the way to Toronto Kenny gave me some chocolate for Valentines! Soon enough we arrived at Kipling Station in Toronto. Then we took the subway to the St. George station and then hopped on another subway to the Museum station. Then we finally got to the ROM.
The primary reason we went was because I requested we go. I wanted to get some sketches done for my portfolio at the bird exhibit and the mammal exhibit. I got a few sketches done. I met with a college friend there, and also met with another one unexpectedly. I thought the trip was really productive and quite a lot of fun. I enjoyed seeing all the stuffed birds (even though they were stuffed) and I got a few sketches done of them. It's nice when the animals you're drawing don't move. It's also kind of fun having people watch you draw them. I had a few remarks about my work and I noticed quite a few people just silently peering over my shoulder trying not to disturb me. It's funny how curious people are.
After drawing for a while and after both of my friends had left, I met up with Kenny and we both went to see the dinosaur exhibit. I couldn't believe the size of some of those skeletons. It was really amazing to see. I especially like the pterodactyl and pachycephalasaurus skeletons. I couldn't believe how huge they were!
The ROM has changed a lot since I was there last. There has been a lot of rearranging and remodeling done. It's looking quite nice.
Anyways, we were there for around 5 hours. After the dinosaur exhibit I went back to the bird exhibit to get a few more sketches finished. Finally my parents called and we had to leave. But not before we stopped at the gift shop. My dad bought me a triceratops plushie which is really cute and soft. The triceratops was one of my favourite dinosaurs when I was a kid.
I really liked today. It was a lot of fun and really just all around great. I can't wait to go back to the ROM someday so I can explore more of the exhibits!
Well, now it's late (it's technically Sunday too) and I need to get to bed. I hope everyone else had a happy Valentines day as well!
