Well...
So obviously my previous promise of updating this blog over the summer fell short. Now I have a huge collection of watercolour paintings that I finished over the summer and I just need the time to organize and upload them properly. Fourth year has started and I'm scared. I'm going to graduate in about 7 months and I don't really feel ready for it. Unfortunately now it's week 4 in the first semester and I've gone into college hiding mode where I devote myself solely to assignments.
Summer was great, my co-op was amazing. I worked alongside Katherine McDonald who was my 2nd year painting teacher. I really improved my watercolour painting techniques and became a lot more direct and brave. Unfortunately I'm still nervous about making mistakes, but that's something I need to learn. I tend to really tighten up when I paint traditionally.
After the summer of working traditionally I'm torn between what media I like to work with. I love the feeling or working traditionally but I know that if I make a mistake it's hard to correct. That's where I enjoy digital, because I can make and fix mistakes really easily. The only problem is that it doesn't feel the same and doesn't have the same charm as my traditional paintings. I need to decide what media I want to work with on my thesis. I could combine traditional and digital to try to get a nice looking hybrid but it's something I need to experiment with. We shall see!
Anyways, I have tonnes of homework to get to this weekend. I hope I'll have time shortly to post my work. There are no promises however. Things are busy!

Updates - Images to come!
I've been busy over the past two weeks and haven't been able to just sit and write or post anything. In fact I still won't be able to post anything tonight as I need to get to sleep.
The past two weeks have been great but really tiring. Last week after I finished my co-op on Thursday I went over to my friend Stacy's house. We spent the entire weekend working on her quad suit for Anime North this week. Hopefully she will get some pictures posted on her blog so I can link them here. I'm really excited for Anime North tomorrow, I'll be staying quite late to help Stacy with the masquerade and then going back to her house.
Co-op has been going well. I still haven't started any major paintings. I will be finishing a water colour portrait of a model on Tuesday. I'll be posting my exercises and work here sometime soon.
Anyways, I need to get some sleep. I'll post images soon!

First Day of Co-op
So I finally got my co-op! It's with Katherine Mcdonald my 2nd year painting professor.
I had my first day today and it was great! 6 hours straight of painting/drawing felt so good and I'm so glad I chose this placement. Here are the first two images from my placement! I'll continue to post the projects I do as I finish them this summer!
