Well...

So obviously my previous promise of updating this blog over the summer fell short. Now I have a huge collection of watercolour paintings that I finished over the summer and I just need the time to organize and upload them properly. Fourth year has started and I'm scared. I'm going to graduate in about 7 months and I don't really feel ready for it. Unfortunately now it's week 4 in the first semester and I've gone into college hiding mode where I devote myself solely to assignments.

Summer was great, my co-op was amazing. I worked alongside Katherine McDonald who was my 2nd year painting teacher. I really improved my watercolour painting techniques and became a lot more direct and brave. Unfortunately I'm still nervous about making mistakes, but that's something I need to learn. I tend to really tighten up when I paint traditionally.

After the summer of working traditionally I'm torn between what media I like to work with. I love the feeling or working traditionally but I know that if I make a mistake it's hard to correct. That's where I enjoy digital, because I can make and fix mistakes really easily. The only problem is that it doesn't feel the same and doesn't have the same charm as my traditional paintings. I need to decide what media I want to work with on my thesis. I could combine traditional and digital to try to get a nice looking hybrid but it's something I need to experiment with. We shall see!

Anyways, I have tonnes of homework to get to this weekend. I hope I'll have time shortly to post my work. There are no promises however. Things are busy!
